What Is a Mitsubishi Electric Water Heater?

The Mitsubishi Electric Heat Pump Water Heater (CAHV) is an air-source heat pump monobloc system that can operate independently or form part of a multiple-unit cascade system, achieving a capacity of up to 688 kW. This level of modulation is unprecedented within the heating industry and is ideally suited to a wide range of commercial applications. The CAHV can heat water to 70 0C and comes with a wide range of controllers as standard.

Are There Any Additional Components Required for Integration?

CoolAutomation products will connect directly to the master unit of the monobloc water heater. No additional Mitsubishi adapters, controllers, or gateways would be required for integration.

What Models Are Compatible?

Model CAHV-P500YA-HPB, which can work as a standalone system or part of a cascade to reach larger capacities (up to 688KW).

How Does It Work?

The Mitsubishi Electric system in question comes as a single (or possibly multiple) monobloc unit that looks like an outdoor VRF unit. For a single module, CoolAutomation devices should be connected to the corresponding terminals. In a cascade configuration, all Mitsubishi units are daisy-chained (one to another), with the CoolAutomation device included in this wiring chain.

What Can I Do With It?

1. Any connected Mitsubishi Electric water heating units can now be easily integrated  into home automation systems(e.g, Crestron, Lutron, SnapOne, etc.)
2. Any connected Mitsubishi Electric water heating units can now be easily integrated into building management systems with our standard Modbus and BACnet interfaces.
3. Any oconnected Mitsubishi Electric water heating units can now be accessed and controlled remotely, using CoolAutomation’s cloud applications:

• HVAC Control: for remote control and monitoring, using any PC, smartphone, or tablet.
• Professional App: A smart solution for facility management, data monitoring, energy management, as well as predictive and preventive maintenance.
