Complete the setup process by selecting the required equipment from Crestron and configuring it properly in Crestron Home Setup application.

A. Control Processor for Crestron Home® OS - original

Provides a secure, high‑performance, rack‑mountable control processor and interface for use with Crestron Home® OS. Includes a full complement of onboard control ports to handle larger home automation, home theater, multiroom video, and MDU (multiwall unit) applications. 4‑Series™ multicore CPU processor delivers remarkable speed and performance while handling the demands of an advanced automated system. Through a full complement of onboard control ports, the CP4‑R, MC4-R, DIN-AP4-R, PC4-R allow Crestron Home to integrate with a wide variety of audio, video, lighting, motorized shades, thermostats, door locks, sensors, and other equipment.

Crestron Home® OS 4 delivers even more of everything you asked for. A more intuitive experience. More personalization. More entertainment. More ways to control and light your home. More than ever, it’s the platform for an extraordinarily smart home experience. The Crestron Home App makes it easy to access and control every aspect of your home–from your phone, tablet, or touch screen.

C. Configuration in Crestron Home Setup App

There are two ways of setting up Crestron Home with CoolAutomation:

A. Using the BACnet thermostat framework

B. Using CoolAutomation’s native extension

When using the BACnet framework, follow the following procedure:

  1. Download and install the latest Crestron Home setup software (currently OS4)
  2. Use YABE (free BACnet software) to detect all the relevant zones and points on your CoolAutomation devices.
  3. Create the required number of “BACnet thermostats” in the Crestron software (equal to the number of HVAC zones in the project).
  4. Enter all relevant parameters detected by the CoolAutomation device for each HVAC zone into the BACnet thermostat in the Crestron software.

When using CoolAutomation’s native extension, BACnet is no longer required. The extension is already part of the Crestron software. Please follow these guidelines.

Inverter Split / Multi Split systems are compact residential HVAC units consisting of one or multiple air handlers and a single outdoor unit, featuring an inverter compressor. Common brands include Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu, and more.
CoolAutomation integration device

CoolPlug is attached to each indoor unit, while the CooLinkHub serves as the central hub, capable of accommodating up to 10 CoolPlugs. Communication between these two parts can be established either through wired or wireless connectivity options.

Legacy / Traditional
Legacy or traditional HVAC systems are the standard units commonly found in North and South American markets. These systems are powered by 24V relays and can be controlled using a standard 24V, 5-wire thermostat. They are widely used and known for their reliability in residential and commercial settings.
