The Challenge of HVAC Metering
As HVAC is the most power-consuming appliance in multi-dwelling buildings, it is becoming increasingly important to measure its exact energy consumption.
The solution
The unique function that is CAPD Solution (CoolAutomation Power Distribution Solution) allows building managers to deliver accurate measurement of usage per HVAC indoor unit, for multi-dwelling habitants – for optimizing energy efficiency and for billing purposes. The CAPD Solution also allows building managers to break down the total consumption of the VRF system’s condensing units, into the actual consumption of each of the indoor units; and break down the consumption between HEAT and COOL modes.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The CoolAutomation Power Distribution Solution requires a Wattmeter with a Modbus RTU interface. The cloud-based application breaks the overall consumption to each of the building’s individual indoor units, based on an algorithm that inspects the actual operational ratio of each indoor unit.
