Home Automation, Inc. (HAI), the leading manufacturer of integrated automation and security products since 1985, announced today that integration has been finalized between HAI Omni and Lumina Family control systems and CoolMaster VRV/VRF air conditioning systems. The HAI controller can adjust set points and operating modes with the ability to monitor changes in the aforementioned items. Each indoor CoolMaster unit appears as a standard HAI thermostat and may be controlled as though it was a standard HAI thermostat. CoolMaster VRV and VRF systems provide connectivity to units from Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Sanyo, Fujitsu, and Daikin. Each CoolMaster adapter supports multiple indoor units. Each thermostat in the HAI home control system can be assigned to an indoor unit on one of the CoolMaster adapters. The CoolMaster adapter utilizes a single setpoint for heating and cooling. Changing either the heat or cool setpoint of the HAI thermostat will control this single setpoint. “HAI is thrilled to increase connectivity to CoolMaster’s HVAC units”, explained HAI Associate Director of Marketing, Greg Rhoades. “This integration builds upon HAI’s ongoing energy management endeavors, including the integration of Carrier/Bryant HVAC systems late last year.” "CoolAutomation Company is very glad entering the Connectivity Partnership Program of HAI, one of the leading home automation manufacturers, stated CoolAutomation CEO Mitbarg Igor. “Such a step will help all the HAI integrators, fast, easy and straight forward integration with major VRF air conditioning brands, such as Daikin, Mitsubishi etc' ." Connectivity occurs using HAI’s Serial Connectivity Adapter Kit, part number 36A05-4, or the HAI Serial Expander, part number 10A17-1. Instructions for each installation option are available on HAI’s website. CoolMaster interface adapters are supported by HAI’s OmniPro II, Omni IIe, Lumina Pro, and Lumina home control systems utilizing HAI controller firmware version 3.8 or later. About HAI (www.homeauto.com): HAI (Home Automation, Inc.) is a privately held manufacturer of integrated automation and security products for residential and commercial use based in New Orleans, LA. Incorporated in 1985, HAI has developed a full line of award-winning automation products, including home control systems, programmable communicating thermostats, smart light switches, Whole Home Audio systems, video surveillance equipment, access control products, Touchscreen interfaces, and software that allows access and control of an automation system over the Internet. All products are sold through HAI’s worldwide network of Distribution Partners and installed by trained dealers in over 80 countries. About CoolAutomation Coolmaster (www.coolautomation.com): CoolMaster is versatile gateway device that enables easy and fast integration of the VRV/VRF air conditioning systems to Home Automation Controller. Exposing simple and unique ASCII interface over RS232 communication line CoolMaster gains user application full control on indoor units and provides access to VRV/VRF system parameters. In other words CoolMaster hides complexity of internal HVAC communication line (including very unique physical layer) and instead gives simple, comprehensive, well documented ASCII protocol running on popular RS232 communication. Since the device is Plug & Play, it can be easily installed by the integrator, without any need for configuration or any other input from the HVAC installer on site.
