We are pleased to share that integration between the Omni and Lumina family control systems from HAI  and CoolMaster VRV/VRF gateways has been optimized.

The HAI controller can now adjust VRV/VRF system set points and operating modes as well as monitor system changes. Each CoolMaster unit appears in-system as a standard HAI thermostat and can be controlled as such.

CoolMaster VRV\VRF gateways provide connectivity to HVAC systems from Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Sanyo, Fujitsu, and Daikin. Each CoolMaster device supports multiple indoor units. Each thermostat in the HAI home control system can be assigned to an indoor unit on one of the CoolMaster gateways.

The integration is accomplished using HAI's Serial Connectivity Adapter Kit (part number 36A05-4) or the HAI Serial Expander (part number 10A17-1). Instructions for each installation option are available on HAI's website. CoolMaster gateways are supported by HAI's OmniPro II, Omni IIe, Lumina Pro, and Lumina home control systems, using HAI controller firmware version 3.8 or later.

CoolMaster is a versatile gateway device that enables easy, fast integration of VRV/VRF air conditioning systems with home automation controllers. By providing a simple, unique ASCII interface over the RS232 communication line, CoolMaster grants complete user application control of indoor units and allows access to VRV/VRF system parameters. In other words, CoolMaster eliminates the complexity of internal HVAC communication lines and provides a simple, comprehensive, well-documented ASCII protocol running over the popular RS232 interface instead. Since the device is plug-and-play, it can be easily installed by the integrator without any on-site configuration or input from the HVAC installer.
