The Customer:

Air Temp Mechanical

Site: Miss Porter’s School (Connecticut, USA)

Miss Porter’s School is a prestigious independent boarding and day school for girls in Farmington, Connecticut, known for its rigorous academics, strong community, and commitment to developing confident leaders.

HVAC System/IDU: Samsung VRF & split / 200

Devices: CoolMaster gateways

Cloud-Based Solutions: Predictive Maintenance Suite

The Challenge

A complex mix of standalone HVAC and layered automation systems, added over decades, has made control, management, and efficient maintenance at the school difficult.

Its management sought a solution and tasked Air Temp Mechanical with integrating its multiple disparate HVAC systems and providing a smart, centralized way to monitor and control them both locally and remotely.

Enhancing HVAC System Management at Miss Porter’s School

The Solution

CoolAutomation’s Cloud-Based Predictive Maintenance Suite

To address the complexities and inefficiencies in managing the School’s existing HVAC systems, Air Temp Mechanical implemented CoolAutomation’s advanced Predictive Maintenance Suite.

The smart platform enabled facility teams to monitor, control, and schedule all HVAC units from a single interface using real-time performance and occupancy data. This improved the ability to maintain desired setpoints, reduced unnecessary energy consumption, and simplified day-to-day system management.

Predictive maintenance capabilities also allowed potential issues to be identified and addressed before they escalated, helping ensure reliable performance, consistent comfort, and reduced operational disruption across the campus.

Traditional Course of Action

The traditional approach to HVAC management relied on local control systems in individual buildings, requiring the physical presence of personnel for direct system adjustments.

Without centralized control, system expansion over time created issues, and operational inefficiencies increased energy consumption.

The CoolAutomation Approach

1
Installation of CoolMasters in 12 Buildings
CoolAutomation's universal gateways facilitated remote, centralized control by seamlessly connecting multiple HVAC systems from different models and brands.
2
Legacy System Integration for Enhanced Operational Oversight
The integration of legacy systems enables a unified view of all operations, streamlining management and decision-making.
3
Predictive Maintenance
Implementing a predictive maintenance solution enabled optimizing energy usage based on real-time data and building occupancy, conducting remote diagnostics, and proactively identifying and resolving potential issues, resulting in significantly improved system performance.
4
Tiered Rollout Over Two Years
A phased approach was designed to minimize disruption, ensuring a smooth transition that ensured operational continuity.
